October 17 to 26, 2014
Litfest was born in 2002 out of the Alberta Book Fair and remains the only nonfiction festival in Canada. There will be of course lots of time reading wonderful books, but the books come alive in a series of events, chic gatherings, and gourmet experiences. An exclusive event, it’s for avid readers to meet writers and also exists to support Edmonton as a local incubator for nonfiction literary talent.
Schedule of Events
There are several dozen events. From story slam to an afternoon all about me (I mean you), and lots of opportunities to meet nonfiction authors. Featured at this year’s festival is Dan Savage! The events are divided into four seperate themes.
Let [Big Ideas] Be Why
Let [X] Be Free
Let [Learning] Be Why
Let [Books] Be Why
For details on each event we figure it best to send you straight on through to the official LitFest website
Consider getting the Gold Pass for $150 and you can be at every event. The Festival Pass ($100) and Student Pass ($50) give almost the same deal, but exclude the events Genu-Wine and Brunch of Writers.
